Lost Property - A Creative Writing Workshop

A creative writing lesson graded at “Outstanding”.
The lesson aims for pupils to devise narratives based around everyday items and objects, under the premise that every item tells a story.
Pupils move through a range of access strategies, leading to devising their own creative pieces using questions from a spinning gameboard (also included).
For this lesson, you must supply pupils with a range of items. I’ve used old maps, keys, ornaments - anything you find sitting around at home can inspire pupils to ask those vital questions of who, why, and where. It’s also a good idea to attach an anecdote to this lessons. Explain to pupils that you obtained these items from a Lost Property depot, thereby grounding their creative writing with a real-world value.
I genuinely hope you enjoy teaching this as much as I enjoyed making it.
