Reception maths activities to do at home

This document contains a progressive set of mathematical activities that parents can do with their child at home. There are suggested activities for every learning objective for the areas of ‘numbers’ and ‘shape, space and measures’ in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

The tasks generally become progressively harder as you move down the numbers list but they do not necessarily become harder as you progress down the shape, space and measures list. It is important that a child is very secure in their understanding of each stage before moving on. Each activity can be done in different ways it just needs to be fun!
