This workbook is excellent for setting remote contextual design challenges and is great practice for NEA. Contextual challenges are important part of the Design Technology Specification.

This workbook can act as a framework, guide and digital portfolio for students. Guiding and supporting students through the iterative design process of Defining, Empathising, Ideation and Prototyping.

The workbook covers:

  • Product analysis (with additional resources to support)

I have used this workbook to set various remote contextual challenges via Google classroom/teams and the content of the book (process) remains the same each time. It has also helped students organise their work throughout the design process.

Boxes are editable so that students can easily input their answers. I distribute on Google classroom by ‘make a copy for each student’.
