It is important for students to BE scientists as they investigate plants, insects, states of matter, sink or float, etc. This is a template that I made after having read many books and articles about the behavior and habits of proficient young scientists. This template can be used effectively with second graders up through sixth grade. Making "claims," stating "evidence," and asking questions are important steps young scientists can and should learn to become the best scientists they can be. This template takes students through the thorough steps of scientific investigations.
