STEM Survival Project

This great STEM project is accessible to middle school and high school grades, a ‘loved by all’ project. The project involves 4 separate STEM activities each using simple store bought equipment. For each activity there is also a class set of task cards to consolidate knowledge.

The project is based on the storyline of a Lego man named Larry who gets stranded on a Jurassic island. Your class must help him get back to his lego friends by trialling three escape methods:

-Bridge building
-Raft Constructing
-Parachute Making

Each activity links back to STEM knowledge and offers students chance to put their planning into practice. There is also a teacher notes section which summarises the short list of equipment required for each activity, additional teaching opportunities and the task card answers.

Also included is a storyline beginning and closing page to grip your students and a final word search puzzle to bring the project to a close.

A brilliant small scale STEM project which will keep your students desperate to SAVE LARRY!
