TES Maths Resource of the Week
Every fourth Resource of the Week highlights a top quality premium resource published by a teacher on TES.
What is it?
Revision should be as fun and as effective as possible and this is yet another impressive resource from the TES Maths community that enables you to do exactly that.
This is a PowerPoint presentation containing over 250 carefully-written questions aimed at foundation GCSE. It has been designed for use with Qwizdom software, but can also be used with something as simple as a class set of mini-whiteboards.
The quiz covers a great deal of the foundation syllabus and a clever macro means that the questions appear in a different order each time.
How can it be used?
In my opinion, the key to effective revision is not to get carried away with one particular strategy and risk overdoing it. As such, a few lessons in a row with nothing but this quiz would probably not be the best idea.
I would end every other lesson with a quick-fire ten-question quiz. The randomised nature of the questions means you will get something different every time and if you use mini-whiteboards, the time needed to get it up and running is minimal.
Ten questions at the end of a busy lesson might just re-energise your students and give you a valuable insight into what to focus on in subsequent lessons.
