The lesson follows a step-by-step learning journey, in which children learn through: Comprehending how Harry is initially introduced to the reader; Reading extracts from Chapters 2, 10 and 17 of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, identifying how Harry’s character develops; Analysing how the story fits the structure of a Bildungsroman novel, and tracking Harry’s development through the stages; Creating a storyboard for their own Bildungsroman novel; Self assessing their learning attempts.
