This is a KS2 Geography unit designed for teaching about a contrasting UK locality. The area of study is Great Missenden, a village in the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire. First the presentation introduces children to grid references and the Ordnance Survey website. It then challenges them to locate various geographical features in Great Missenden using 4-figure grid references (6-figure for UA).In the activity, children again locate features of the village using grid-references. Additionally, there is an extension activity which revises compass directions.
