KS2 Measuring: Making George's marvellous medicine for Grandma!

KS2 Measuring: Making George's marvellous medicine for Grandma!

This is a differentiated measuring activity which I used for my mixed ability year 5 class, but could be adapted for any KS2 Maths group. I used it as part of World Book Day and it gave pupils a practical opportunity to practice their measuring and converting skills! A range of equipment (ingredients!) is needed, but it is worth it!LA = Orange (following instructions and reading scales to measure)MA = Yellow/ Purple (pupils also need their addition, subtraction and halving skills)HA = Blue/ Green (pupils also need to convert between ML and L)

Geometry: Real Life Graphs - Drawing and Interpreting rates of change (+ resources)

This is an excellent look at different questions on rates of change and drawing real life graphs. This is one of the new "hot" topics for KS4 / GCSE as well as being appropriate for stronger groups at KS3.This Powerpoint gives lots of structure to the lesson, including an interesting starter, learning objectives, several matching exercises / MWB activities, a worksheet with answers and a challenging plenary. This lesson is a great accompaniment to my lesson on travel graphs and together helps pupils becoming much better at interpreting and drawing graphs. I have also uploaded a very large 4 lesson bundle of linear graphs, which might also be helpful to do at the same time.NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources and as always please rate and feedback, thanks.
