French Christmas Interactive Book

French Christmas Interactive Book

This is an interactive French Christmas Book. It works via the click of a mouse. It would be engaging for secondary school children and adults alike. I have set it out in to paragraphs or learning rooms:- vocab, sentences, paragraph, exercise and dictation. It works through the target language gradually building as you work your way through the rooms. My son and I have also dictated the content to give an authentic (my son) French accent, or nearly (me). This is the first book game I have created and I would be very much interested in your feedback on it or suggestions for future topics. Kindest regards and enjoy. Merry Christmas

Thanksgiving French Lesson - L'action de Grace

Thanksgiving French Lesson - L'action de Grace

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. How about telling our students a bit more about culture and traditions? Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year for our French students to discover a bit more about other cultures. This lesson is aimed at proficient students in French (B2-C1) or it can even be used for native speakers that want more culture about the United States. However many activities have also been designed in this resource for lower level students so that they can understand the concept of being grateful for what they have. Every activity is corrected to save you time and you get detailled notes at the bottom of each slide of the PPT to guide your teaching! The booklet is a good way to help your students keep a record of what they have learned in class Here's what you will get in this 36-slide PPT lesson and its 12-page booklet: 1. A starter with a brainstorming 2. A video about Thanksgiving's story 3. A true-false activity 4. A text to reorder 5. A fun mini quiz about Thansgiving in History 6. FRENCH CHRISTMAS POSTERS FLASHCARDS

FRENCH CHRISTMAS POSTERS FLASHCARDS

PERFECT FOR A FESTIVE FRENCH CLASSROOM AT CHRISTMAS - IDEAL FOR DEVELOPING FRENCH LANGUAGE SKILLS TOO! Create an instant introduction to FRENCH CHRISTMAS WORDS and give your learning environment a truly festive feel with this set of 30 posters / flashcards with words your FRENCH learners will enjoy at CHRISTMAS. I’ve included a selection of both generic CHRISTMAS words, such as ornament and Christmas tree, as well as more Francophone-specific words, such as Père Fouettard and la galette des Rois. The posters / flashcards will also help to promote FRENCH as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of your - and your students’ - classroom during the CHRISTMAS season. The posters / flashcards do look great in colour, but are still really nice if you prefer to print in B&W to keep costs down. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate for longevity - you’ll be able to display your Christmas posters and use them as flashcards to introduce Christmas words, as well as discuss similarities and differences in Christmas customs, for years to come! The posters/flashcards are in portrait format on A4 (8.5x11) paper. The resource consists of a single, non-editable file. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully: the resource is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. MERCI BEAUCOUP ET JOYEUX NOËL!

French Christmas Song: Les Douze Jours de Noël

French Christmas Song: Les Douze Jours de Noël

Great Christmas song as it consolidates numbers and is a good introduction to ordinal numbers. Powerpoint 1 introduces the vocabulary. Powerpoint 2 accompanies Worksheets 1 and 2. The resources break down the vocabulary by working on numbers then nouns. You can teach each day individually with Powerpoint 1 before adding the full verses with Powerpoint 2. There is also a link to Youtube video to sing along to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yB8dzktiBm4 . There is a PDF file with the song in full as well as a wordsearch. I divide the class into groups with each group ‘owning’ a day or several days depending on the size of the class. You can have a competition between odd numbers and even numbers. I have also in the past had the class find out which nouns are masculine and feminine then split the ‘gifts’ between girls and boys. It can also lead to craft and/or drama activities.

FRENCH CHRISTMAS WORD SEARCHES

FRENCH CHRISTMAS WORD SEARCHES

PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING FRENCH LANGUAGE SKILLS WITH A FESTIVE FEEL! Mots Cachés are a fabulous way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in FRENCH, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set features ten differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. It focuses on 30 FRENCH CHRISTMAS WORDS, which will also help to develop students’ awareness of some Francohphone Christmas traditions and figures, such as Saint Nicholas and Père Fouettard. There are 5 FRENCH to ENGLISH grids, where students are prompted with the FRENCH words, and look for them in FRENCH in the grid. For additional consolidation, each grid also features an ENGLISH word list that they have to complete, really putting their knowledge to the test! There are also 5 ENGLISH to FRENCH grids, where the prompt words are given in ENGLISH, and learners have to find the FRENCH equivalent in the grid. For additional consolidation and practice in writing and spelling in FRENCH, they also complete the FRENCH word list on each page. Students can tell in which direction the words are written by looking at the arrow key on each grid. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that students can check their answers - or use for a little extra help if they need it. The word searches are in landscape format, as this mirrors the common direction of reading from left to right, facilitating learner engagement with the activity. I’ve included a FRENCH-English reference sheet - you can either laminate this to share around small groups of students, or give one to each student to stick into their learning workbooks as a general reference resource. Students will have to look carefully at some of the words they’re looking for, as they may appear slightly differently - for example, they may have to find ‘AN ELF’ and work out what that is in FRENCH - only the prompt LES LUTINS appears in the reference list. Use as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the CHRISTMAS season. Students do like the challenge of working their way through a number of grids on one go! There are two versions of the word searches and keys - either with a colour or B&W background — you may prefer to print in B&W to keep prep costs down. Laminate the answer keys if you can - they’ll last for many CHRISTMASTIMES to come! The resource consists of five non-editable files. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the resource is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. MERCI BEAUCOUP ET JOYEUX NOËL!
