#### Colouring by Equations, Harriet Tubman (20 Sheet Mosaics, 3 Topic Versions)

Celebrate Black History Month in unique way as your math class collaboratively creates a large Harriet Tubman mosaic by solving equations! This product includes three different versions, each consisting of 20 worksheets/colouring grids: ◾ Linear Equations (1 and 2 step, multistep, proportions, distributing) ◾ Quadratic Equations (factorable, common factor first, simple, complex, quadratic formula required) ◾ Exponential and Logarithmic Equations (A variety of algebraic and application problems) Each worksheet represents a small section of the big picture! This task ensures individual accountability (every worksheet is different) while harnessing collaborative motivation (Every worksheet is needed for the mosaic). The end result will look spectacular hanging up in your classroom, and your students will be proud! A Complete Answer Key is provided for the whole class set of worksheets, so no stress when it's time to assess! A completed coloured mosaic is also provided, with coordinates, for easy assembly of the image. All worksheets contain 12 problems. Students use their answers to decode the colour-by-number grid, then combine their coloured grids to create the large mosaic image! It's simple! 1. Calculate the answers. 2. Colour the squares. 3. Cut out your section. 4. Combine with the class! Leave the picture a secret or show it for motivation… it’s your call. Encourage students to check their answers by finding them in the randomized list on their worksheet before they colour each square. This will increase the accuracy of the final picture! All my “Colouring by…” worksheets use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match (and encourage quality colouring!). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment! Thanks for checking this out! ~CalfordMath

#### Australian Banknotes: What's On My Money?

After attending an Aboriginal Museum and briefly told about David Unaipon's (who appears on the \$50.00 note) history, I thought it would be a fun activity to find out who else is on the Australian Bank Notes.I had real bank notes that I brought to class. I had a couple of each note (100, 50, 20, 10, 5). It was great to see the students identifying the security features of each note, and trying to find the microprinting with magnifying glasses would work a treat! This lesson would work if you were currently learning about money in class too...Enjoy :)

#### REMAINDER THEOREM - LESSON PLAN & NOTES

Remainder theorem is among the polynomial theorems. I have used basic examples to lead the learners in understanding the theory and use the same. The lesson is structured on inquiry based learning model and the students are taking the lead role in the acquisition of knowledge. The lesson is adequately differentiated and the teacher can vary it to suit their particular interests and that of the class. But overall it will help a class identify quotient, remainder, divisor and dividend after the procedure of long division. It will also make the learners understand the theorem and use it.
