Feste und Traditionen - German holidays and celebrations

Feste und Traditionen - German holidays and celebrations

The pictures in the presentation can be used to introduce and talk about celebrations in Germany and how important they to the people. It is aimed at AQA AS Level or Higher GCSE level. The first part of the puzzle sheet is a version of my puzzle sheet to go with Stimmt AQA GCSE "Wir feiern", the second part (crossword) is to aid understanding of the text on page 60 in the new Hodder AQA AS Level book. With answers on the worksheet and in the presentation. NB The presentation does not contain the description of all the celebrations, but pictures and names.

GOODBYE LENIN film project adapted to new GCSE 2018 FILMKRITIK FILM REVIEW

GOODBYE LENIN film project adapted to new GCSE 2018 FILMKRITIK FILM REVIEW

This contains a whole film project about "Goodbye Lenin" which I used for my year 10 groups over 2 weeks (7 lessons). We did it at the end of "Zeit fuer Freizeit" unit from the Stimmt 9-1 Higher textbook to expose pupils to an authentic German film full of culture. In the Power Point you have an outline of how I structured the lessons + activities from the booklet. I created also a booklet for pupils with all activities around the film. Over the course of the lessons pupils will explore the historical East vs West Germany division, the concepts of Wende and Ostalgie and loads of activities on the film. The year 10s loved the whole project and motivation was high since they are a very clever group. At the same time they loved doing something which is usually required at A-level. At the end of the PPT and the booklet you also find the questions for the speaking assessment and a writing assessment task in the new GCSE style! It worked so well!

German Halloween Skeleton Counting Song + Writing Sheets + 31 Different Activities For Class.

German Halloween Skeleton Counting Song + Writing Sheets + 31 Different Activities For Class.

A fun way to practice German numbers during Halloween. You can also use the worksheet to help practice writing and saying the numbers and the second presentation gives you 31 ideas about how to use flashcards in the classroom. You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different skeletons being shown in each of the photos. You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the Halloween Skeleton Counting Song. The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different groups of skeletons. The students can then discuss what they think each skeleton was saying or thinking. The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.
