The GCSE Sociology Stretch and Challenge Workbook

The GCSE Sociology Stretch and Challenge Workbook

The GCSE Sociology Stretch and Challenge Workbook makes it as easy as possible for you to stretch and challenge the thinking of your most able students. The workbook is self-contained and ready to use. It is thirty pages long, containing a wide range of stimulating, high-level activities. These are based on critical, creative and conceptual thinking, as well as the top two levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy – synthesis and evaluation. Simply print off the workbook and give it to your most able students. They can then use it during lessons, when they have finished the main activity, or as the basis of challenging homework tasks. The GCSE Sociology Stretch and Challenge Workbook is a perfect complement to the Stretch and Challenge Grid and the Stretch and Challenge Generator. All three together allow you to differentiate incredibly effectively for your most able students, with little or no planning required.

Marking Policy STAR

Perfect marking policy and approved by Ofsted. This sheet is great to have around the classroom and shows students how their books are marked. It allows teachers to track progress and use specific intervention marking modelled by the "Outstanding" teacher category.

Skills: Problem Solving

Skills: Problem Solving

Ofsted describes an inadequate lesson as one where the students are over dependent on the teacher and produce only passive responses. The same lesson often has a one size fits all approach that limits the students’ own responses and ability to produce their own work. All of these points would produce a truly terrible lesson within the sixth form where there is expected to be even more independence. The students need to be encouraged to think for themselves and solve their own problems. This does not only mean making sure they bring a spare pen to the lesson but also how to go about completing their own work, how it is to be presented and finding the correct answer or solution. Activity Aims: 1. To demonstrate to the students the different ways of looking at problems 2. For the students to look at the process of coming to a solution

GCSE AQA SOCIOLOGY PAST EXAM TOPICS 2010-2014

GCSE AQA SOCIOLOGY PAST EXAM TOPICS 2010-2014

Hi All, I have undertaken a painstaking examination of every topic that has come up for GCSE AQA Sociology course examinations since 2010. Paper 1 Studying Society, Family and Education. Paper 2 Crime, Media and Social Inequality. It will help target pupils revision by observing the frequency of topics and the typical combinations. It will enable teachers to plan and target learning for pupils based on their Target/Progress 8 Grade. Every Exam paper was looked at and the key topic and related topic tabled. GCSE Grade boundaries for the course Paper 1 and Paper 2 in a simple table (June Series). I want to continue developing targeted appropriate resources that aim to raise progress and support teachers who may not wish to download and print everything on the AQA website so this will help with planning and preparation. Please do offer feedback as I will continue developing resources for this course.

Every key word is covered to ensure pupils can maximise their marks across the questions. You can use them for quizzes, setting 12 Mark questions, short tests etc. Thanks for your support.

Sociology H580 / H180 Mini-Mock - OCR Template, Writing Frames, Class Support and Mark Scheme

Sociology H580 / H180 Mini-Mock - OCR Template, Writing Frames, Class Support and Mark Scheme

A mini-mock (Section A of this exam - the 6/12/20 mark questions) on the first short half term of lessons (my lessons uploaded on the TES as Lessons 1-11). I have used an OCR exam script 'look' and adapted it for this exam to get students used to the look and feel of the exam. I have also used some old questions and adapted them for this mock. I have put together a PowerPoint to accompany the mock - a 'walking talking' mock - with strategies for answering the questions and writing frames for each question. I have also collated the mark schemes from the exam questions and adapted them for the new specification so that the right marks are allocated and the right AOs are being hit. This should make marking much simpler. For the feedback lesson, including model, answers, please go to: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/sociology-h580-h180-mini-mock-feedback-lesson-with-model-answers-11157578 PLEASE KEEP CHECKING FOR FURTHER RESOURCES AND DO LEAVE ME FEEDBACK SO I CAN KEEP IMPROVING THE LESSONS FOR ALL OUR STUDENTS.
