Outstanding lesson on secularisation & religiosity: Beliefs, Lesson 7

Lesson objective: To be able to apply sociological theories for secularisation & religiosity to a 20 mark exam question. I have used this lesson in my formal observation & was graded outstanding. There is a lot of support for literacy with a clear focus on key words. Also there are challenge activities. Most of the questions have the answers/lecture notes on the board which is great for non-specialist teaching. ** THIS SOCIOLOGY LESSON REQUIRES YOU TO USE/REFER TO THE BOOK TWO SOCIOLOGY TEXTBOOK BY WEBB ET AL**

GCSE Sociology - Research Methods - Focus Groups and Interviews - Lesson 5

GCSE Sociology - Research Methods - Focus Groups and Interviews - Lesson 5

This lesson focuses on Focus Groups and Interviews, including the difference between focus groups and interview and the strengths and weaknesses of using interviews. Resource includes lesson objectives, starter and plenary activities, video clip links, independent work and more. Lesson 5 is probably about 1 - 3 lessons tbh… A brilliant book I used throughout this lesson is Sociology in Pictures – Research Methods Paperback (2012) by Michael Haralambos, though lesson could be easily edited to use the resources you have available.
