Colours Powerpoint Games

Colours Powerpoint Games

Colour words are used frequently within texts that younger students read. It is therefore important that students learn to recognise them quickly and with confidence. These colours PowerPoint games are not only great fun, but give students much needed consolidation practice and boost in confidently recognising colours and their names. SEE VIDEO PREVIEW: Please note only part of Game 1 is shown Colour List For consistency, these games cover the same colours as used in all my colour words resources. ESL - ELL Taboo Speaking Game, House and Home Vocabulary

ESL - ELL Taboo Speaking Game, House and Home Vocabulary

Playing TABOO in English is a great way to get ESL students to speak English and learn a lot of new vocabulary. This game focuses on HOUSE AND HOME vocabulary. It is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. Advanced students try to get teammates to guess the word at the top of the card without saying any of the "taboo" words listed below. Beginner students can still play, but they should be allowed to use the "taboo" words to help learn new vocabulary and build sentences in English. This ESL Taboo game includes the following: 30 Taboo game cards to print, cut out and laminate if possible Color and black and white versions included Object of the game: One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.
