Euthanasia - Interview with a terminally ill man

Euthanasia - Interview with a terminally ill man

A transcript of a powerful interview carried out by a Year 11 pupil in a hospice with a terminally ill man. The interview was conducted to gain an insight into a perspective on euthanasia/assisted suicide from the view of the patient. This patient was not in support of legalising assisted suicide despite suffering from a terminal condition. The interview was conducted as part of a GCSE Citizenship investigation. With the permission of the family of the man, it has been uploaded here to add balance to the debate on legalising assisted suicide. All names have been changed to protect the privacy of the family. The family have agreed that this interview can be published. Please feel free to use/adapt as needed. Any feedback will be welcome for the pupil who conducted this interview.

AQA RE GCSE Human Rights and Social Justice - Essential Concepts and Teachings Booklet

AQA RE GCSE Human Rights and Social Justice - Essential Concepts and Teachings Booklet

This is the essential teachings and main concepts booklet for the final theme for Paper 2 in the RE AQA GCSE course. I have included the 3 areas that may come up in the ‘contrasting’ question with some teachings for each. There is also a summary of the key concepts, a glossary of some key terms and also an exam skills section (focussing on Q5 in this booklet). I give this to the students at the end of the unit as revision and a summary of the key ideas. It also helps to focus the teachings that they need for Q3 - in this case: Status of women in religion, use of wealth and freedom of religious expression. There are booklets available for the other themes or in a bundle. I have not taught Unit A or Unit C so they are not available at the moment but will be soon.
