The Background to and Causes of the Tyrone Rebellion ALevel OCR- Tudor Rebellions. This is one of the Depth studies- a likely exam question since the focus has largely been on the Pilgrimage of Grace and the Western Rebellion up til now. This work will take several one hour lessons - it recaps the prior Irish rebellions such as Desmond and Geraldine since the legacy of these was one of the reasons. Looks at Tyrone’s demands as well as the motivations of Hugh Roe O’Donnell and Hugh Maguire.

Lesson on the Features/ principles of the American Constitution including Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances and Federalism. This is lesson 2 of my unit and follows on from the work we did on the Constitution in lesson 1 and the framers of the constitution. Students learn about the features, using modern, up to date examples mainly from Obama and Trump administrations. This is a double (2 hour) lesson on the Principles and Features of the Constitution. Includes all up to date case studies and examples from the updated Bennett book (2021). Very comprehensive, suitable for new teacher with no knowledge- all informationn and examples included in worksheets and slides. Students to work independently learning about the principles then do some class discussion and evaluation before completing their own “report cards” for the Principles to grade them and justify the grades they have given. Includes Historical interpretations and Guided reading and a battle of the Historians for students to have some fun with it (make sure volume is turned up!) whilst working on their skills of supporting/ opposing interpretations to evaluate them. This is for the Depth study Pilgrimage of Grace so is far more detailed than the other rebellions.
