LET'S WORK WITH EMOTIONS

LET'S WORK WITH EMOTIONS

This material consists of 3 sheets size A3 (tabloid) with three templates to make three roulette, one whose main character is a monster, another in which is a girl and another in which is a boy. Each one has an arrow to mark the emotion you want to highlight. Each sheet also includes a small card of each emotion with each character. The emotions expressed here are joy, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, fatigue, discomfort (sickness), being serious or quiet. You can use it creatively, although here are some ideas of what you can do with this material: - You can practice making faces of the different emotions presented here. - You can ask your students to indicate how they feel today. - You can play to make a face of some emotion and ask them to mark with the arrow the emotion that you are reproducing. - You can ask them to make faces and mark you with the arrow the emotion they are doing. - You can put all cards together and ask the kids to put together the ones that represent the same emotions. Anyway, these are just some ideas.

ESL - EAL Hobbies -TV programs and telling the time-Unit 4 lesson 4 (lesson + exercises) (No Prep)

ESL - EAL Hobbies -TV programs and telling the time-Unit 4 lesson 4 (lesson + exercises) (No Prep)

Teaching about hobbies is always fun with Beginners in English. The question is where do we start? How can we be sure that we have integrated all the vocabulary and grammar relevant to their level? How about having the context, the vocabulary and the grammar in just one place with explanations, exercises and feedback? This flexible resource will help you teach young adults and adults about TV programs and telling the time. There is also a recap about movies. This resource is aimed at helping teachers to complement their textbook or to give enough material for those who are not lucky enough to have access to ESL textbooks/material. The resource contains a powerpoint with 36 slides with clear explanations at the bottom of each one of them to give you a step-by-step explanation about the progression of the lesson. The exercises are corrected to save you time! The resource also contains an activity booklet for students with 8 pages so that they keep a record of their learning. The approach is communicative to allow students to develop their speaking skills but it also contains reading and writing activities to consolidate their grammatical skills and improve their writing skills. You will find different types of activities to allow a greater differentiation in your class: - A recap about movies with questions in pairs - A matching up with TV programs and pictures - A reading/speaking about TV programs - A speaking activity in pairs - A reading about a conversation about TV and questions - A speaking with opinions about TV - An article about TV vs other devices and the use of Catch up TV with a True/False activity - An introduction about how to tell the time with multiple exercises to practise - A writing about the time - A speaking as a plenary - A review of objectives You can easily use this resource on its own but I suggest you take a look at the other resources on the topic to give your students some progression in their learning! Have fun!
