Homework Alphabet Sheets: Also in the pack is a set of Alphabet sheets in the same format for children to take home whenever you are working on a particular letter of the alphabet. Activities include: Trace inside letters, colour in and add more pictures around the frame of the sheet. This presentation pack comprises 5 PowerPoint Presentations. Aim: To develop children's knowledge of the alphabet (upper/lower case letters). A very useful resource which can be used in a variety of ways. It will save you a lot of preparation time. Just choose a presentation and play. The 5 presentations all include animation in Slide View. They can be used as lesson starters, standalone lessons or as a plenary. The Teacher's Notes describes all the presentations and the interactive activity using the superhero picture to link pictures to words. Children recite the alphabet as they appear in alphabetical order: - with letters, pictures and words - capitals letters only - lower case letters only - a mix of lower and upper case letters (children name the letters as they appear) - alphabet pictures (a-z) with each picture linked to Slide 28 that contains a table of words listing each picture on the slides. Aimed at: Reception/Year 1/ESL & EFL Learning objectives are to develop children's knowledge of upper and lower letters of the alphabet and begin to learn alphabetical order. Briefly: Washing line activity - questions marks are placed where there should be either a capital letter or a lower case letter. I have uploaded two sets of capital letters A to Z to be printed onto card paper and laminated. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students 1. Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. 2. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. 3. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form capital letters. Weakest Link Scattegories Game for KS1/KS2/EAL and ESL learners!

This is a fun weakest link style Scattegories game which can be used to help use and develop vocabulary skills and as a way of building teamwork skills in your classroom. This lesson was originally used for EAL learners but can be adapted easily for KS1/KS2 classes as categories/rounds can be changed where needed. Worksheets are also provided and can be modified where needed to make sure learners have help. You can also quickly add further rounds where needed or modify the existing ones to make them more challenging. A lesson plan is provided and the lesson should run for at least 45 minutes.

I have uploaded a resource to support children's learning of the alphabet. Children sound out the beginning sound of the word and then draw a line to the correct letter name. There are two sets which you can laminate for use with drywipe pens or you use as worksheets. Two different lower case 'k's are used. Hope you find it useful.
