This is the IAL C34 Specimen Question Paper (free sample). Only questions appear in the document without any written space. I have written the paper using LaTeX ( a high quality typesetting document preparation system) and compiled to get the PDF output. Teachers and tutors can now easily save paper and print the question paper for exam practice and revision purposes of their students. The omission of writing space is a huge advantage in saving ink and paper, because original papers comes with a lot of empty space for the answer. The LaTeX written paper have all the math beautifully formatted and typeset even to the minor details. The question paper comes with a cover page for reference. Mathematical Ambiguity & topic relationships

A presentation exploring ambiguity in the operations and objects of Maths and a set of concept maps that connect various topics of GCSE and IB/A level syllabuses. Quadratic, Log, Trigonometric and Functions are mapped in detail. Useful crossover introductory material that can provide some meaning and context in helping to make some connections between otherwise disparate fields. The presentation develops five areas in which the terms and processes of mathematics are inherently ambiguous: from the irrationals and infinity, the variable as a receptacle, the filling of the number line, forming operations with numbers to the notion of equality and sameness. That is from a number being both a noun (a fractional object) and a verb (process of adding a convergent series of rationals). That algebraic formulations using a variable x, allow for x in one sense to have any value ( before the equation is solved) to a specific value when it has been solved. As five separate chapters each one can serve as nonstandard provocative discussion/starter/plenary material .

Advanced Higher, Higher and N5 Maths - Advent Calendars

I made these advent calendars for my Advanced Higher and Higher Maths pupils. Idea is that they are doing at least one question a day in the run up to the Christmas holiday. The H questions are from topics we have covered so far so: coordinate geometry, polynomials & quadratics, functions and graphs, differentiation (including chain rule), vectors, laws of logs, & all of the trig, My side of the AH course is all the calculus, functions and number theory so the questions are predominately about those topics. Big thanks to Chris Smith for the N5 advent calendar.
