Primary ICT / Computing report templates and statements of progression

Primary ICT / Computing report templates and statements of progression

New UK Curriculum for Computing in Prmary assessment and reports statements for year 1-6 at three levels of progression across Digital LIteracy, Digital CItizenship and Computer Science. Use the sentences as a guide for what to include in your reports for the computing segment. While these do not cover the entire spectrum of assessment for computing, they are a good representation of the most notable standards per strand for the age expected ability and represent what should be taught. Could also be used in a backwards planning model to also develop learning objectives, success criteria and lesson plans or an entire vertical curriculum.

Technology Survey for Parents

Technology Survey for Parents

I use a lot of technology in my classroom. This survey is helpful to find out what kind of technology my students have access to at home as well as which students need extra support at school. The questions ask what types of devices the students have access to as well as if they are allowed to use them. I also like feedback on what parents think in terms of using technology within classroom. Print this resource out and get feedback from your students parents in no time!

E-Safety - understanding how encryption works

E-Safety - understanding how encryption works

I’ve created this resource for a group of learners with learning difficulties. Following a review where the language used was too complicated I’ve added a simplified version and the pub file (in comic sans), as well as two simple questionnaires… Staying safe online and how encryption works is hard to explain, so I’ve tried to demonstrate these in a simple and accessible way. The resource contains 7 pages, and it takes the learners through a short and simple journey in understanding how to keep away from fraudulent online content. The resource can be used as part of an E-Safety lesson or in an assembly.

#1Lib1Ref - How to give Wikipedia a present for its birthday!

#1Lib1Ref - How to give Wikipedia a present for its birthday!

Wikipedia celebrates its 17th birthday on January 15th 2018. To mark the occasion, the Wikimedia Library is calling on educators, librarians and anyone who ever uses Wikipedia all around the world to add one reference to Wikipedia to backup a fact that needs it (marked with 'Citation Needed') between Jan 15th and Feb 3rd 2018. Because any citation to a reliable source is a benefit to Wikipedia readers worldwide. And it only takes a few minutes to share open knowledge. This video demonstrates where to find out about #1lib1ref, how to use the Citation Hunt tool to identify a random snippet on Wikipedia that needs a citation... and how to go about finding & adding a reliable source in order to change that citation needed to citation added! For more information on the #1lib1ref campaign please visit: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/The_Wikipedia_Library/1Lib1Ref
