Complete Weekly Times Tables Scheme- "Around the World in 72 Times Tables Tests"- UK KS2

Complete Weekly Times Tables Scheme- "Around the World in 72 Times Tables Tests"- UK KS2

As well as being used for weekly tests, these resources can also be used and edited for daily use and for homework across KS2. This is a scheme of 72 times tables tests, which follow the newly implemented standards from the DFE (for all children to be able to recite their 12x tables by the end of year 4). It then progresses on to year 6 arithmetic skills and other multiplication methods. The following is an extract from the introduction document, attached. ===The following tests follow the idea of a child progressing ‘around the world’ through passing times tables tests and moving from country to country. Each test has been chosen to develop the child’s understanding of multiplication in a scaffolded manner, with all the skills learnt working towards and overall idea that all areas of multiplication and division are met. Children will be monitored and can monitor their own progress. These tests can be used alongside the ‘Times Tables Rock Stars’ programme, in which children are designated a rock star character. The idea of ‘Around the world in 72 times tables tests’ is that their rock star is on a round the world tour and stops in each countries capital, where they are then tested (comparable to a rock star performing ina concert or festival). In passing, they can they move to the next country and can track progress over time in a number of ways. The general premise of these tests is to get children ready for the forthcoming, statutory tests in year 4, beginning in 2020. They are also geared to enabling children to then use their knowledge of times tables in formal methods and within their every day maths work. ==== The pack includes test papers, answers, a certificate and an introduction/instructions in to how to operate the system.

Understanding Fractions & Decimals - Practical Activities & Games - Part 1

Understanding Fractions & Decimals - Practical Activities & Games - Part 1

A comprehensive guide for parents and teachers to PRACTICAL activities, conversations, chants and games to help young children (ages 5-9) master the early concepts in fractions and decimals. Children often have difficulty understanding fractions and decimals. The approach I have developed, using counters and metre sticks, is great for making it all make sense! I've divided the guide up by age and stage with an A4 page on each concept which you can print for reference in the classroom and also send home for parents to refer to. There are also links to my tablet materials in Wise Owl Maths which can be used for extra consolidation. I haven't found a way of putting these on TES yet, but you can find them on my web site at www.mathsinvestigations.com The guide is in two parts. This is Part 1. Part 2 is still being written! Part 1 covers Step 1: - Halves - Halving and Doubling - Splitting into Equal Groups Step 2 (includes 4 pupil sheets): - Count, Speak, Write & Draw Halves - Quarters and Quartering - Count, Speak, Write and Draw Quarters - Count, Speak and Write other Fractions - Counting Caterpillar and Tap Say Turn Step 3: - Halves of Metres and Mixed Numbers - Numerator and Denominator - Quarters of Metres and Improper Fractions - Quadruple and Quarter Numbers; Factors Step 4; - Single Place Decimals - Tenths and Halves - Decimals & Equivalences - Tenths and Fifths - Fractions of 12 and 20 - Unit Fractions using Tables - Fifths and Tenths using Tables - Something out of Something as a Fraction - Halves and Quarters with Remainders Let me know if you find this guide useful and it will motivate me to press on with writing Part 2! Enjoy! Rob
