PERFECT FOR PRIMARY SPANISH!
SPANISH LOS ANIMALES DE LA GRANJA Learning Display and Design Posters, with Whole-group Practice Activity, features 17 farm animals and 3 'farm' words: farmer, children working on a farm and tractor. The words focus on definite article in both the masculine and feminine form, with two words (los niños/las vacas) in the plural.
The posters introduce children to the 'look' and 'sounds' of SPANISH from the very beginning of their learning, providing them with multi-skill learning opportunities: reading, spelling, listening, speaking and pronunciation, as well as engaging with basic writing to develop their confidence in SPANISH. They provide a great opportunity for cross-curricular learning too.
Creating a SPANISH 'look' and 'feel' to your classroom and school corridors also promotes SPANISH as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of the school. Children enjoy honing their artistic and design skills by selecting their favorite WOW word to colour, label and decorate - this is also a great opportunity to work with bilingual dictionaries. Children also have the additional challenge of writing the correct SPANISH words in their best handwriting, and love to see their work celebrated on classroom and school walls. They also enjoy creating a display header too!
Introduce and practise the words with the presentation resource, encouraging children to repeat the words in their best SPANISH accent. Developing accurate pronunciation is something that does require a lot of frequent and regular practice, so show the presentation as often as you can across both a short and longer-term series of lesson, and the entire school year. I've included a set of mini-flashcards (both word and picture) for children to use as an additional learning support resource.
I've described the resource as suitable for PRIMARY/ELEMENTARY SPANISH, and it's a really useful activity for the first year of secondary/middle school SPANISH too, depending on the age/stage of your students.
