#### New AQA DT NEA template and assessment tracker

Developed to be delivered with the new AQA NEA for DT. Complete PowerPoint that takes students through each section. Clear and precise assessment tracker has also been included to support.

#### Food science scheme of work and resources.

This project is based around a rotation of 12 1 hour lessons. Included is a SOW, power point presentation with slides for each lesson, recipes, cake method information sheets for one of the activities, recipes and an end of topic test with answers. The project covers the following food science related words: Gluten, gelatinisation, coagulation, aeration and caramelisation. Each recipe demonstrated one of these key words. Homework is suggested on the SOW but is not for students to complete in their booklets. This avoids them losing them if they take them home! This SOW directly links to the new Food preparation and nutrition GCSE. I follow the AQA specification, however, this project could be used to support any of the exam board specs. I teach this to my yr 8s, however, it could easily be adapted or added to for other year groups.

#### PROVENANCE - Cereals KS3 Cover resource

Part of my set of ‘print and go’ cover resources. This is a 1 hour lesson suitable for KS3. It contains activities and a video clip to stimulate learning and is focused on developing literacy skills using food as a vehicle. It is easy to lead for a non-specialist or a cover supervisor and there are no other resources required other than the internet to play the video clip. Feedback welcome!

#### GCSE Alternative Proteins Differentiated Worksheets

Due to the success of my GCSE Flour Theory Differentiated Worksheets, both in and out of the classroom, I have made another set to cover alternative proteins. As with the other one, this worksheet can accompany a PowerPoint based on alternative proteins but also can be used alongside the WJEC Food Technology textbook. This would fit with all curriculums and can have additional information added to the format. It’s easy to use and differentiates for the lower, middle and higher ability students in your classes, even if these are set classes.

Just as with its history Russian cuisine keeps you warm in the winter and helps you stay fresh in the summer. Food is made with simple, naturally grown ingredients but is surprisingly comforting. These worksheets give students the opportunity to try five different foods from Russia and to use their sences to describe them

#### Pizza Recipe Puzzle

I am a huge fan of engagement tasks that are ready for the students as they enter the classroom. I often use these as a competition for a prize and the students get really into it. This can help focus their minds and also stop them from getting frustrated from waiting if you have problems with projectors etc. All you need to do is cut out the bottom part into it’s sections and muddle them up. The students need to put the slices on the top part in order. This can be used whether or not their have been told how to make a pizza and can be used in any lesson, with any information substituted on the bottom part.
