A brilliant book for reluctant young readers, using a poem to attract adolescents, using the tune of a well-known nursery rhyme as a mnemonic device. This book draws the reader into the poem which tells a story of the effects of drugs both for the user and dealer. This is an excellent resource as intervention, for working with young people who are affected by drugs, both directly or indirectly containing accumulative verses that describe the creation, dissemination and destructive effects caused by Heroin and Cocaine, hence destroying communities. This book is a great training tool for schools, local authorities and professionals working with young people.
What people have said:
“I thought the ‘scary fairy tale vibe’ of the book reflected the scary outcomes of doing drugs. The repetition of the rhyme was effective too and something young people will remember. Wishing you lots of luck with this book - you’re brilliant.” – T Truelove, Pastoral Care Support Worker, Brentwood Essex.
“The use of clear words is brilliant…!
It catches the reader from start to the end with a strong message of what drugs and can do. WELL DONE…!” – J Babra, Grants Administrator, Barbican, London
“I enjoyed reading this book, it is a great working tool for children and young peo-ple whose lives have been affected by drug abuse. It gives some understanding to the condition and even some of the symptoms. This book will add to the discus-sion of positively addressing drug issues.
