This lesson enables students to analyse media language through the use of emojis. It is a very fun lesson, which gets all students involved and they can all relate to it.

The objectives of lesson are;
You will identify the difference between denotation and connotation by analysing the emojis that you use
You will then apply the above knowledge by creating a story, using emojis
We will discuss the reasons for using emojis in text message
You will discover the hidden meaning behind emojis and the use of emoji in marketing campaigns, politics, etc.
You will then apply this knowledge by creating an anti bullying/anti discrimination poster, to be displayed at your school

This bundle includes a lesson plan, powerpoint, activity sheet

The powerpoint includes all the facts and figures about emojis, including some group and individual activities for students.

The lesson can also be taught to promote English values as the final activity is to create a poster for anti bullying.
