Wooden Pinball Game Project
This is a project I did with year 8s over about 8 lessons. There are 12 files here. It includes a lesson by lesson Powerpoint, handouts, designing activities and instructions on how to build the pinball. I have also got 2 D design files to cut out the flippers, ball pinger parts, ramps and obstructions plus jigs to aid the manufacture however I am unable to download these. You could leave feedback and I could send them to you direct. The students design the background on the computer and I laminated it. The obstructions were glued on with a glue gun.

Materials you will need - pine for the sides, 3mm MDF for the back, elastic bands (I've forgotten the size but you can order them online the size you need), ball bearings, 3mm plywood for the parts and 3mm acrylic for the cover. I used a pen spring for the pinger - I got the packs of pens from Homebase and dismantled them. It was the cheapest way to do it. I think we used a 6mm ball bearing from memory.

It is a great project and the students loved it. It could be adapted easily for older students - perhaps making a base for it to go on. Any questions do ask!
