Canada Reading Activity Guide

Canada Reading Activity Guide

Have your students read an interesting article about Canada. The reading for this activity guide is lively, full of facts and has lots of pictures. It covers basic facts, sights to see and the people there. The article is 9 pages long and is a nice straightforward summary with supporting pictures. It is a good way to introduce a new unit or just spend a short time on Canada. The article is embedded in the guide for students to access online and also included as a PDF. The guide is a 2 page pdf and is very simple and straight-forward. This could also be assigned as a substitute lesson plan. If you have the students read the article together in small groups, then do the activity guide and share their extension activities that lesson should take about 50 minutes. Thanks for looking! Year 10 Urban Futures SOW 2017 Updated 11) Revision OCR B Urban Futures 8 mark question WITH ANSWERS

Year 10 Urban Futures SOW 2017 Updated 11) Revision OCR B Urban Futures 8 mark question WITH ANSWERS

The prior knowledge the students need to participate in this lesson is to have attempted the question below for homework. This is based on the lesson 'Year 10 Urban Futures SOW 2017 Updated 6) Urban Trends in the UK'. The 8 mark question was set as homework as the knowledge was generated in the lesson. Compare the causes and consequences of recent urban trends in ACs with those in LIDCs and EDCs. [8 marks] The slides begin with giving examples of revision techniques that students need to revise at home. The settler is definitions of two key words. The main introduces the BUG technique and breaks down the question with the students. The goes on to further support the students by providing sentence starters, guidance notes and model answers to support the students. I get them to DIT (Directly Improve Time) to improve the answer already completed. The question has a model answer that has been PEELed for the students. The students can peer or self assess with the model annwer or mark scheme. The plenary is a game of Jibber Jabber.

Transnational Companies Alphabet Analyser Geography Starter Keywords KS3 GCSE Cover Multinational

Transnational Companies Alphabet Analyser Geography Starter Keywords KS3 GCSE Cover Multinational

Alphabet Analyser on the theme of 'Transnational Companies'. Powerpoint so can be used on the board or printed as a worksheet. Includes space for students to explain the keywords and suggested extension activities. Can take 10 minutes or an hour, depending on which activities the students complete. Ideal for the start of a lesson, a quick filler, a homework, part of a cover lesson or as a plenary on the board with a whiteboard pen. The idea behind these is to get students to become more literate and think independently about the words that could be used to describe the topic being taught. The repetition of the word over and over as they look for the word is useful in remembering the terms. Often the students will pick up on things that you would not normally expect!
