Eduqas 9-1 New Specification. Issues of Good and Evil unit. Evil

Evil. This resource has been designed with differentiation in mind and includes a range of activities such as videos and literacy work. The focus of this double lesson is to look at the concept of theodicies and to understand the views of some when discussing the purpose of evil. Irenaean theodicy, John Hick's soul making and the Augustinian theodicy are all discussed as well as the inconsistent triad. The aim is to lead students into the area of study with an understanding of differing views on the subject. The activities are colour coded to match the objectives so that students understand the progress that is being made throughout and promotes an element of independence. Reference is made to the Christian view.
