Colouring Sheets with Tints + Hints (3)

Colouring Sheets with Tints + Hints (3)

Young children love colouring, and these ready-started sheets inspire critical and creative thinking as they work. The light dabs of colour provide spurs and guidance, drawing attention to detail, shape, pattern and colour-scope, as well as the interesting picture itself. The 3 sheets represent natural summer themes: a blooming, buzzing meadow, a beautiful butterfly, and a sailing boat on a wavy, fishy sea. Recommended for ages 4-7.

Health and Safety for KS2-3

Health and Safety for KS2-3

This is a simple resource designed to promote safe working environments. It is fully editable so that you can adapt it for your school’s needs and add necessary logos. Simply laminate the sheet, and appoint a ‘Health and Safety Officer’ or several. Point out key things they need to look out for in the lesson and students can write these with a board marker on the sheet. Their job is to then keep an eye on other students and make sure that the tasks are being carried out in the way the teacher instructed. It enables the more able learners to become independent and gives them a sense of achievement as well as providing the teacher with another set of eyes in the classroom or workshop. Once printed off and laminated, it can be used indefinitely for any lesson where their is a potential hazard.

The Leaf Man

The Leaf Man

Students explore why trees are important, what the parts of a tree are called and why we need trees. Students begin by observing trees in nature, and then draw upon inspiration from the story The Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert to make their own leaf men with fallen leaves. These will be used to create a display to teach other students about the importance of trees. This lesson is designed to be taught outside. By spending time outdoors and connecting to nature, students are more likely to care for and conserve nature as adults.

Pair of flip flops - mindfulness colouring sheet

Pair of flip flops - mindfulness colouring sheet

A picture of a pair of flip flops with a busy design to colour for summer. One design, infinite possibilities! Perhaps suggest that children use a colour scheme - two colours, three colours, different blues, greens, reds etc. etc. Maybe children could use a mix of different media - pencil crayon, felt tip, pastel, chalk etc. Great for golden time, or for a fill in activity when children finish their work in the lead up to the summer holidays. Perfect for Year 2 upwards - even staff can have a go!

End of term activities. Cool Colouring

End of term activities. Cool Colouring

Great fun at the end of term. Get kids colouring with these beautiful original designs. Also many children and adults suffer from stress and anxiety at times. An over busy brain makes it difficult to concentrate on tasks and the feelings associated with anxiety can cause distress and further anxiety. Recent research suggests that activities which focus the mind without being overly taxing can help break the cycle of worry and anxiety and can help calm the busy mind. One such activity is colouring. This resource provides 40 original hand drawn kaleidoscopic images. The repetitive nature of the patterns is intentional, encouraging the individual to settle into a calming routine. Drawings range in complexity, making it a suitable resource for all age groups, including adults. I hope that enjoyment and a sense of calm at the end of term can be found by using this resource.

Shape Camouflage!

Shape Camouflage!

Purpose: This activity can be used for Kindgergarten and Primary school level students. Suggestion: The resource can be used as an art lesson or as a fun filler activity based on shapes and colouring. The object is to find the hidden shapes in the larger drawing. Each organic shape has been drawn by hand and has small and large patterns to help with coordination and the ability to discern shapes. Each pattern also has intricate designs that children can colour and decorate as an extension activity. In the past I ask students to coordinate colours with shapes and this has been really helpful in teaching new vocabulary. I also have used this in the unit: Camouflage as an introductory activity.
