This A to Z of Maths quiz is an excellent end-of-term activity to use with your class. There are 26 questions, each answer begins with the corresponding letter of the alphabet. E.g. The answer to Question 1 starts with an A.
I have used this quiz with students in high school (Year 7 to 12). The answers are included.

The Lobster Pot Game - including play sheets, teacher guide and variants to extend the game. Links included to dedicated website with random generators and ideas for extending the game further.
The Lobster Pot Game is a well-known maths game, suitable for UKS2 and KS3. It is helpful for reinforcing probability, times tables and decision theory - while also being a lot of fun. It is highly requested by my maths groups and is a staple of the end of term.
Each day, players distribute their lobster pots either ‘offshore’ (more risk, more reward) or ‘inshore’ (less risk, less reward). Using the money earned, they can purchase further pots and so increase their profits on later days. The aim is to have enough money at the end of each week to pay a steadily-increasing rent.
This contains everything you need to play the game with your class, including dedicated worksheets and full instructions for running the game. Simply print and play!
**If your class enjoyed this kind of game, have a look at these too:
The Energy Game - No-prep lesson about energy generation - dice game with full lesson plan including reflection activities. Recommended for science (energy), geography (land use) and general end of term fun!
Number and Word Rich Quiz to use with a group at the end of the term. I created these quizzes (see part 2) as after school events but they can easily be used with a class at the end of a term or year. They include number and word based puzzles, activites and problems.
Round 1 - Picture Round (Famous STEM’ers)
Round 2 - Musical mathematics (Using Chris Moyles Maths Videos)
Round 3 - Numerical Abbreviation (24 H in a D - 24 hours in a day)
Round 4 - Musical Mathematics 2 (Using Chris Moyles Maths Videos)
Round 5 - Cross-Over Round
Round 6 - Big Number Round
Includes a picture round, a score sheet for the students, answers to score at the end and a tie breaker.
Feedback is welcome and appreciated.

How to run this Measurements & Maths escape challenge
This escape room can be done without any printing we have however still included a team sheet (Slide 2) should you wish to use it, if not plain paper will more than suffice.
The escape room is story driven by a YouTube video which is split into 9 sections.
Introduction - Puzzle 1 – Puzzle 2 - Puzzle 3 – Puzzle 4 – Puzzle 5 – Puzzle 6 – Puzzle 7 - Success
At various points you will be instructed to pause the video at these points you can go to the next slide in the presentation.
Each video section (excluding Introduction and Success) will be followed by a puzzle.
Every puzzle has three built in timers in the lower right hand corner to put the teams on a time limit of your choice if you so wish.
Once the timer has expired or everyone has completed the puzzle teams can check their answers on the next slide using the CLICK TO REVEAL boxes.
Once all answers for the current puzzle have been revealed move on to the next video section and subsequent puzzle until all 7 puzzles have been completed and everyone has escaped successfully
(Optional) Give out winning certificates to the highest scorers.
This assembly uses humour to appeal to secondary age students and reiterate that Christmas does not have to mean not looking at your study books for 2-3 weeks. This assembly is one that stays in students’ memories and resonates with them for a long time afterwards. The resource comes with a complete script and the powerpoint is fully animated to ensure that the visuals match the presentation.
This is an assembly that my students loved and laughed about for a long time after first presenting this.
WARNING: DO NOT SHOW THIS TO ANY YEAR GROUP WHO MIGHT STILL BELIEVE IN SANTA! :-)
These activities are aimed at key stage 3 students. They could also be used as revision for GCSE students.
The pack contains GCSE foundation style questions including standard form, ratio, number work, fractions, algebra and much more. Answers are included.
Each round consists of four questions.
Print the slides 8 to 13 on A4 paper and place one printed slide per table
Put students into pairs (either by choice or teacher selection)
Each are given a copy of slide 14 and a few sheets of pieces of A4 paper.
The pairs are designated a starting table and the timer (slide 2) is started.
The students are then given 5 minutes to answer the four questions on that table.
Once the five minutes is up the students move clockwise to the next table and start the next set of four questions and the
timer of slide 3 is started.
This continues until all students have completed each set of questions.
The exercise should take no longer than 30 minutes
At the end students remain at their final table and swap answer sheets with the nearest table.
Go through each question with the class before revealing the answers.
Finally, students ad up their score and the highest score gets a prize!
This exercise gives students a chance to try GCSE style foundation questions and see a demonstration on how they should be answered.
