This lesson is designed with the OCR Ancient History GCSE spec in mind.
It focuses on the different aspects of Alexander’s childhood (Bucephalas, Aristotle etc.) and these stories are presented to students through extracts from Plutarch’s Lives.
Links to video clips are included throughout which help to back up students learning and students are encouraged not just to take Plutarch at face value, but also to consider his reliability.
Students are also led to examine how the experiences of Alexander’s early life might have led to his greatness further down the line.
All worksheets are included as full page slides ready to be printed off in the appropriate places within the lesson.
