It tells children exciting facts about camels that they can quickly remember and use in their own report writing.
I used this report as the main activity too and cut up each sentence/fact and jumbled them up. It was the children's job to organise the facts into appropriate subheadings. This highlighted the fact that non-chronological reports don't have to be in the exact same order, as long as the subheadings and facts relate then it doesn't matter.
This also helps identify the misconception of not having the intro/conclusion in the correct place and gives opportunities to explore these features.
The mini plenary works well as a formative assessment.
