A game for one or more players that I have found works. Cut out the words, mix them up and get your students to pair them up to make compound words. There is no obligation to end the game in any one session - it can be dipped into or continued over a couple of sessions. I've just spread them out on the table in front of me and let students come to me and ask me what I&'m doing. You can, of course, add your own words to the boxes and/or get the children to come up with their own. Have fun.
