D’Aulaires’ Book of Norse Myths: The Epic Literary Guide
"As the sun breaks above the crowd,
an old man stands on the hill."
-Flight of Icarus (Iron Maiden)

The tales handed down through Norse mythology are phenomenal works of story writing. Between the book’s covers lie Odin, ruler of the gods, vicious warrior maidens, the hammer-god, Thor, and the clever and cunning trickster, Loki. Within this book is a journey just begging to be taken upon, into a fantastical world, which in the end, wound up being the inspiration for the Lord of the Rings series!

This epic literary guide takes a look at each of the chapters within D’Aulaires’ Book of Norse Myths. Each chapter takes the students through a simplistic learning process:

g. peer communication and evaluation
Note: An answer key is included for the comprehension quizzes and a couple of the more difficult vocabulary activities. The reflection quizzes and chapter activities DO NOT have an answer key.
