Daily Quick Writes for the Catholic Teen Preparing for Confirmation
This 162 page workbook combines Bible study, relevant issues, fluency and infuses a habit of reflection and is perfect for school, home school, bible study, and Catechism. According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops: “The Church encourages Catholics to make reading the Bible part of their daily prayer lives. Reading these inspired words, people grow deeper in their relationship with God and come to understand their place in the community God has called them to in himself.” (http://www.usccb.org/bible/understanding-the-bible/index.cfm)

In addition to Catholic Scripture for reflection -- these quick writes contain imperative study topics for Confirmation including: The Nicene Creed, The Apostle’s Creed, The Beatitudes, The Ten Commandments and relevant Sacred Scriptures: The Rich Man and Lazarus, The Money Changers in the Temple, The Last Judgment, Jesus Announces His Mission, 1 Corinthians 15:47, and The Temptation.

This workbook combines Bible study, relevant issues, fluency and infuses a habit of reflection perfect for middle schoolers -- this version specific to eighth grade -- but relevant up through high school.

Each Daily Devotion takes Bible passages and requires students to think and write about things important to them, things happening in their lives – relevant to their world. By connecting standards, His Word and their lives – students gain a greater understanding of the teachings of our Lord and Savior – and gain valuable reading and writing skills required for college in the process.

This is quick Bible study meant to bring students closer to His grace and should be engaging. Most Bible verses were taken from the New International Version; however please email publisher@luckyjenny.com if you prefer a different version for your school or students.

What is a Quick Write: The University of West Virginia describes a Quick Write as “a literacy strategy which can be used in any content area to develop writing fluency, to build the habit of reflection into a learning experience, and to informally assess student thinking. The strategy asks learners to respond in 2–10 minutes to an open-ended question or prompt posed by the teacher. (https://wvde.state.wv.us/strategybank/QuickWrites.html).

May be used in classrooms as a blackline master, but works best if each student has his or her own book to reflect back on. Books available at Amazon or other major book outlets: ISBN 978-1541045194
