An activity where a mixed ability class (some SEN and EAL) created bar charts using information on their favourite pop singers. They did this on squared paper and had previously been introduced the skills (counting squares and using ruler etc) in a Maths lesson. Slides 2 and 3 recap how the information is transferred from one format to the other. You could model your own example if they are really unsure, or get focus group to work on one together (with support) on big paper or even using unifix cubes.
