Engaging, fun and challenging complete SPaG lesson with differentiated learning objectives that teaches how to punctuate direct speech with inverted commas. Also extends to adding speech punctuation and replacing said. Children then work through 4 activities designed to develop their understanding using different skills. They identify, create and explain, with the more able going on to a challenging extension activity. There is also a fun activity in there too that your class will love. Self/peer-assessment plenary is also included to really help cement the learning in their minds and potentially make marking easier for you too. Aimed at Year 3 from the 2014 curriculum guidance but could be taught to Y2 and Y4 as well or any class that needs a reminder! Teachers' notes and answers included along with starter activity, teaching input (including video link) and plenary all on the PowerPoint. A revision power point containing 14 revision tables targeting key grade C topics with some of the grade B topics that a grade C pupil can attempt. Topics include solving equations, four rules of fractions, standard form, graphs etc. Topics are repeated on some slides for extra practice. Twelve topics are revised per slide. On power point so you can adapt/amend as you need. I found that one table lasts as a starter for 2 lessons allowing for approx. 15 mins at start of each lesson.
The task is to design a brand new zoo thinking about
different animals needing different amounts of space, the children have to calculate costs and profit. They are not given a budget but the more species they have the more money they earn.
I have included a fact sheet: containing 7 pages that include the species of animals the space they need and some tables to record their calculations, an editable Smart Notebook resource to start the project and a squared paper sheet (best printed on A3) to try and calculate the perimeter - if they share the perimeters it reduces the cost of the fencing.
This took my class 4 maths lessons with a 5th sharing their designs and budget. They loved it - probably because we approached it as a design competition.
A few answered questions about the up and coming solar eclipse on Friday 20th march.
All text and images have been put together by me.
The images of the Sun, Earth and Moon are not to scale.
The angle of tilt of the Moon's orbital path is drawn to illustrate the point not accurate to the real movement.
The answers to the questions are my interpretations of fact learnt over the years and cannot therefore be sourced. I am a qualified Physics teacher with 17 years experience of teaching.

This booklet supports a series of lesson and is designed for Entry Level/SEND students to allow them to access the key elements of science. If used in a mixed ability class, these booklets allow students to keep pace with the rest of the class whilst personalising the challenge and support they require.
The booklet is part of a series of booklets with a variety of tasks including matching keywords and definition, scaffolding, extended answers, research and a lot of practical work with matching results tables/graphs.
Some of the diagrams have had to be removed for copyright.
I have edited this quiz from gking to be more related to my class (Yr4/5) and included some worksheets. I have put it under RE but really its just a fun puzzle for Easter. Please leave any comments for feedback thanks.
I have updated one of the worksheets as there was an error! Sorry!
This Easter Quiz comes in two formats. When using the first sheet, the answers can be entered directly onto the computer. It begins with a blank sheet and after entering EASTER into the green square the first of the 20 Easter-themed questions will appear. The second sheet is a printable version of the quiz for use as an end-of-term class exercise.
Powerpoint based on Dr. Emily Lovegrove's "Help! I'm being bullied" I developed to work with my MLD class during PSHE sessions and a worksheet to help them think about their self-motto. Session is on building self-esteem and thinking about how we deal with bullying. Hopefully will be one of 3 (not done the others yet!)
