Your secondary U.S. History students will learn about the first and second Great Awakenings in America and the contributions made by religious groups to American society in this engaging lecture and group activity.

Students will follow along with the powerpoint presentation by answering essential questions on the corresponding lecture-notes template. They will then complete a group activity to learn about the major leaders of the religious revival movements: Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, Charles Grandison Finney, Ralph Waldo Emerson. As a check-for-understanding, students complete a whip-around explaining what they learned from the lesson.
