This is a web based maths, language and other games for childeren from around 5 to 14. It is games based where the pupils play against another opponent anywhere in the world in real time. Pupils can choose addition, subtraction, division, multiplication or spelling, all against the clock and other excited pupils. It is very safe as the teacher/parent has control and no pupil names are displayed. Best of all it’s free! Try it in class on the interactive whiteboard, great. It is reimiscent of the World Maths Day challenge.

An FYI comment - this was indeed a terrific site that helped to develop mathematical understanding in a fun way however, it now seems to have become Moshi Monsters and TUTPUP is nowhere to be found. If anyone knows of it's whereabouts, or a similar site, I'd love to hear about it.

Simple, easy to use and fun . Very easy to use website, you don't even have to sign in to play a simple maths quiz against another player. I have signed up as a teacher so my pupils can login as my class and play to build up their own records. Great for classes who like competition.
