Tarsia puzzle template

Tarsia puzzle template

Type in a word/phrase it the TL on one line and then the equivalent in English opposite it (as in the example). Do this within each inner section and then cut it up into cards. Pupils must then form a triangle with the cards by matching the TL to the English. Instructions are in the notes section of the PPT. It's worth Googling 'Tarsia puzzles'!

Sentence Race - template

Reading Challenge template

Reading Challenge template

One of my personal favourites! Have a reading text in the box. In 2 teams, pupils choose a word to find in the text. The pupils don’t know what each word is worth. Click on the word they have chosen when they have correctly identified it in the text and their score will be revealed. The winning team is the team with the highest score once all words have been found in the text. 3 slides with different scores.

Fading texts template

Fading texts template

Use the space on each slide to enter the words/phrases you want pupils to memorise whilst they’re fading automatically. They could then either write them out or translate them either during the fade or after. Each slide takes 10, 20 and 30 seconds to fade out.

Dice rolling paragraph template

Dice rolling paragraph template

Pupils work in pairs to produce a paragraph on any given topic. They take it in turns to roll the dice. The phrase corresponding to their number is the one they have to use. When they’ve completed it, they then learn it. Good practice for learning to learn! They must also check that the phrase makes sense. If it doesn’t (incorrect tense, etc.), they must roll again. It’s a good idea to print this off as well.

Kagen Table Labels in German

Kagen Table Labels in German

These are small squares which can be printed off, laminated and stuck to your classroom tables to introduce Kagen techniques to your German classes. I have created examples in sets of 4, but these can be edited. They go three ways: by A/B, by 1-4, or by table. Enjoy!

Reading Challenge with negative, positive scores & a wipeout

Reading Challenge with negative, positive scores & a wipeout

Enter the text of your choice into the box and then add the English of the TL in the text to the boxes underneath. Pupils read the text and then take it in turns to choose which English phrase they would like to find in the text (in the target language). If they are right, click on the phrase to reveal their team's score. There are positive, negative scores and a wipeout. Instructions are in the PowerPoint.
