Early Years & Primary Music Curriculum 2014 Planning, Progression & Assessment Toolkit EYFS KS1 KS2

Early Years & Primary Music Curriculum 2014 Planning, Progression & Assessment Toolkit EYFS KS1 KS2

“This is such an excellent resource and well worth the money! It contains an extremely thorough progression chart which includes progression in dimensions; musical skills such as singing or notation; and other musical knowledge including historical knowledge or world music. The individual and class assessment sheets are very useful and easily adaptable to suit your own needs. The brainstorming charts for planning are also very helpful in sparking ideas to help you create a really solid unit of work. Thanks so much for a great resource!” Becca, Primary Music Teacher, TES This resource will help primary school music co-ordinators and music specialists who are required to plan a whole school music curriculum based on the current (2014) Primary National Curriculum for Music and Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. It is NOT a scheme of work, but a simply-worded (yet comprehensive) overview of what musical learning should take place from Nursery (3s) to Year 6 (11s). Plus there are useful long, medium and short term planning templates, and a music-through-topics brainstorming sheet, all with example content, for you to use. ‘Dimensions of Music’, ‘Musical Skills’ and ‘Other Musical Knowledge’ are broken down into statements which can be used in several ways: * i) to help you map out and plan 'what' should be taught in each year group * ii) to help you plan an assessment system for your school or class (i.e. most statements can be prefixed with ‘...is not yet able to...' '...is able to...' '...is confidently able to...' or with 'I can...') * iii) to help you when it comes to writing statements for end of year reports. This resource is designed to be adaptable for all planning and assessment approaches in schools, and documents are in editable Word or Excel format. I hope this Toolkit saves you reinventing the 'music planning wheel' from scratch. It should, at least, give you a very good start! Contents of download: * A whole school music curriculum planning, progression and assessment overview showing detailed progression in musical learning from Nursery to Year 6 (ie. Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2) * Individual year group music curriculum planning overviews for Nursery to Year 6 * An example whole school yearly planning overview, on which you can map out your own school's music curriculum (long term planning) * 2 x example half-termly plans for a single year group (medium term planning) * An example weekly music lesson plan, for when you need to outline a single lesson in more detail (short term planning) * A music-through-topics brainstorming sheet, with completed examples, to help you plot out quality music lessons based on a class topic * A class observation sheet, for making notes during a music lesson * An individual child 'Musical Progress and Achievement Record' sheet

Time is Running Out (Muse, 2003) KARAOKE PRACTICE MP3s + BASS/CHORDs/DRUM KIT @ 90 - 110 BPM

Time is Running Out (Muse, 2003) KARAOKE PRACTICE MP3s + BASS/CHORDs/DRUM KIT @ 90 - 110 BPM

+ Drum Kit - MIDI [Audible] + BASS/DISTORTED GUIT. MIDI CHORDS NO VOX. These MP3s, created from Midi Files I produced (Garageband/Logic Pro) of the 2003 Muse song 'Time is Running Out'. First created for a GCSE Music Student (Drum Kit). Kit Beat input was co-arranged with C. M. Andropolis, Tees Valley Music Service Music Tutor to standardise they are appropriate for around Grade 4 Drum Kit. The Tracks could be used to rehearse any other typical Rock Band Instrument which may require them. We also used the Full Speed MP3 for a vocal student. The 3 Files are at suggested practice speeds of 90, 100 + 110 BPM as I would suggest to use the Full BPM Backing for Solo / Ensemble Performances. These MP3s could be used across KS3 - 5 depending on purpose. There are limitations, e. g. in the Bass Line and choice of timbre which could be used as a template for further Real / Step Time / Audio editing for teachers of Music Technology at KS 3 - 5 also. Full Speed Edit Coming Soon.

Elements of Music Bulletin Board

Elements of Music Bulletin Board

This science-themed bulletin board will look great in your classroom and remind students of the different elements of music: Rhythm Melody/Contour Pitch Dynamics Timbre Tempo Since "M" is not on the periodic table, I included a substitution. You can also use "C" for contour instead of "M" so that the chemistry teacher won't be upset! Included: Directions for assembly Letters in "Elements of Music" 8 Beakers/Test Tube with Faces 8 Beakers/Test Tube without Faces 6 Periodic Element squares used to display musical elements I use this on my small, square-shaped bulletin board and it fits perfectly. To give you an idea of the scale of the images, the yellow beaker is about the size of one sheet of copy paper. Also, I have broken this down and used it to display student work. For example, if they have been working on dynamics, I only list the dynamics image in the center (underneath "Elements of Music") with the beakers and student work around it.

Musical Four Corners, 4 Voices PowerPoint Game

Musical Four Corners, 4 Voices PowerPoint Game

Musical 4 Corners is a great, interactive PowerPoint activity for teaching the 4 voices in music class to your Kindergarteners! There are also LOTS of slides so the game can be played for 5 minutes or 20. A favorite indoor recess game at my school is "4 Corners." I've modified the game so that each corner is a voice type. Each embedded mp3 contains one of the 4 voices: Whisper Speak Sing Call The students walk to a corner before the clip is played. Then they listen to the audio file, and if it matches their corner, they are out. You could also use your own voice instead of the mp3's or have a student with his or her back turned use a voice. There is also a timer sound file between each slide with a ticking clock sound AND 4 printable pages to place in each corner. More 4 Corners Games 4 Corners BUNDLE!
