Singing & Public Speaking ELL & ESL Avatars

Multicultural avatars for all! These fun images are to be used in a variety of settings. My students love using them during our vocal warm ups and my own children use them during public speaking classes. How to use: Print onto card stock or thick paper. Cut out avatar. (Cut out mouth piece if using). Laminate. Attach to a jumbo popsicle stick and enjoy! These assist students in public speaking settings by allowing for more privacy during dialogue. They also give singers a great focal point during warm ups or solo singing. Please read: This is a nonrefundable digital download. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Revision Game

This game can be used for all subjects and for all abilities. There are brief explanations on how to change things to match your subject in the notes page on the first two slides. All you need to do is write in your questions and answers and it will do the rest. I have titled “correct answer” on each question enry so if you click it it will move you up the money board. Click an incorrect one and it will tell you it’s wrong and you lose. Classes I have used this with have really enjoyed it and it has prompted whole class discussion.

Around the World-England Game Songs

Around the World-England Game Songs

Hands down my students’ favorite lessons that we do in my classroom are the “Magic Airplane Ride” lessons. We get in our airplane, fasten our seatbelts, and then take off and visit other countries while learning about the music, art, customs, food, and culture of each country. The students look out for red and yellow stars, which take you to locations in Google Earth or to videos. This is a great resource for multicultural and “Trip Around the World” lessons. This lesson is a trip to England. Each lesson includes links that take you to locations in Google Earth so the kids can see the places. Once you land, click and drag on the screen to drive down the street and see the city. Sometimes the airplane can even go inside buildings! There are also video links throughout the lesson to make the topics covered come to life by letting the kids see and hear what they are learning about. Each video will open in a ViewPure window so there will not be any advertisements at the beginning of the video. Covered in this presentation: • The flags of England and the United Kingdom • The Queen and prime minister, Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street • Noted sites in England with Google Earth links. • Children’s songs with lyrics and game directions • English foods • Unique English traditions

Musical Assessment Activity

Musical Assessment Activity

Assess your students through this fun finger trail activity! I use it for exit tickets but you can adapt it to fit your needs. Project onto the board or blank wall and invite each student to trace the melodic line while the class sings, or the student sings independently. It helps teach the 'road map' of a refrain, while mostly staying true to pre-reading skills of left-to-right motion. A beautiful illustration engages children. For learners needing texture, print this out onto photo paper and mount to foam poster board. Use a small pen tip or equivalent, punch small holes on each white dot, creating a concave path for fingers to travel.
