Spanish Introductions - Me presento

Spanish Introductions - Me presento

Five famous people from around the world introduce themselves giving personal information in a very straighforward way. I used it as revision of last year's work (Listos 1, modules 1 and 2): name, age, birthday, nationality, where they live, hair, eyes, family. Useful activity for reading skills. There are two tasks: 'Find the person who ...&' and answer questions.

A Spanish Powerpoint and Worksheet 'Where's Wally?- pupils have to guess what country Wally is hiding in by using the visual clues and capital cities. Aztec Play

Aztec Play

Play about the Aztecs and the Conquistadors written for a Y6 class. Designed so that the whole class could have a part each and not too many lines to learn. Uses rhyming couplets to assist learning. This was put on as an end of year school production - after SATs. It gave a very enjoyable focus for the topic - as children could add details from their own research. It uses well known tunes as the basis for its songs, so backing tracks can be easily found.

Town research project for KS3/KS4 Spanish - Mi ciudad favorita

Town research project for KS3/KS4 Spanish - Mi ciudad favorita

This is a research project lesson (or two lessons really) that I created for my year 8 Spanish students. It can also be used for year 9 as the model answer has quite a list of grammar / some more can be added. The idea is to promote independent learning via research. There are two choices: a documentary about your favourite town in England (in my case it is Manchester) or an interview with a football player about his town in Spain ( I chose Madrid). Students decide on the task, the roles and start researching relevant information using their iPads (one of the students needs to summarise the information that others found). They then have to prepare a script in Spanish and to make a video using iMovie or any other video application. If there is little time I would suggest them to present it and I would film it. The whole process takes about 2 lessons and is perfect for the end of the topic as you can incorporate all of the structures / vocabulary learned during the term!

GCSE SPANISH - Travel and Tourism 2 (Geography) - COLOUR MATCH

GCSE SPANISH - Travel and Tourism 2 (Geography) - COLOUR MATCH

This is a colour match exercise to practise vocabulary from the AQA syllabus. Students find a pair which mean the same, in English and Spanish. They then colour them the same colour. If they run out of colours they could use stripes, spots etc. If you are short on time they could number the boxes instead of colouring them in. The second sheet is for students to fill in the words as they find them and then to use as a vocab list. This is useful for a starter, a cover lesson or a homework
