King James I, 1603 - 1625

These outstanding resources look at key issues during the controversial Reign of James I. They begin by looking at the problems that he faced during his reign and the impact of the break with Rome and include his relations with Parliament, The Divine Rights of Kings, Money, taxation and religious problems. The issue of the religious problems facing James I is explored via both the Gunpowder Plot and The Pilgrim Fathers. Whilst interconnected with both these problems is popular beliefs and superstitions which is explored through my resources on Witchcraft. The overarching theme to all these resources is their link to not just the consequences of the break with Rome but ultimately the causes of the English Civil War. MACHU PICCHU -INCA RUINS IN THE HIGH ANDES OF PERU - WORLD HERITAGE SITE PART 1

This location creates and promotes student interest. Machu Picchu is a unique place with a unique history. This standalone unit cuts across curriculum disciplines of environment, location, geography and history. It can extend knowledge of South America. The addition of fill-in worksheets in colour and/or black and white give you the opportunity to use this material in flexible ways. It can be used as a screen presentation promoting observation and in class discussion. It can be used as a combination screen and individual student activity using the three black and white or colour fill-in handout pages. In terms of curriculum this unit will expand global locational knowledge. It is part of a series that will explore locations with World Heritage listing - some well known and some less known. Students having an interest in discoveries and scientific archaeology will find this location appealing. Machu Picchu is a significant World Heritage site. It is also included on many lists as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Take your students into the thin air of the Andes and visit these Inca ruins. Be prepared to be impressed.

Inca, Maya, Aztecs ESCAPE ROOM BUNDLE: Ancient Civilizations

**The Ancient Civilizations Escape Room BUNDLE will take students on three separate secret missions around the classroom! The escape rooms have students decode interesting facts about three Ancient Civilizations. This is the perfect resource to introduce the Maya, Inca, Aztecs, Francisco Pizarro, Hernan Cortes or Machu Picchu. The Ancient Civilizations Escape Room have students walking around the classroom breaking codes. Students are given a secret code name and sent on three separate secret missions. The codes include ciphers, Morse code, cryptograms and a final 4 digit code based on the decoders/clues. Each clue and code is different. The codes require students to think differently to decipher or decode them. Some codes are easier than others. Some codes require critical thinking to determine what a letter/symbol stands for. Each code will reveal interesting facts about the Inca, Maya or Aztec Civilizations. The use of secret code will keep your students engaged while competing to find the final code. Students can report the final code to you. If you wanted to, you could purchase a 4 digit lock that you program, but it is not necessary at all! No props needed!! This is a NO PREP, PRINT & GO Activity! Students are sent on a “secret mission” and given a back story to ignite their active learning skills. They are given a code name which makes them feel as if they are part of the secret mission. Students practice hands-on, practical problem solving skills all while learning about Ancient Civilizations. Your students will be inspired to think outside the box! Spy themed music is highly recommended! The best age range for this resource is 8+. Please look at the preview to determine if this resource works for your age group. Younger students may need some help with some of the more difficult codes. You can use the pre-labeled clues or you can challenge older kids to choose/find the decoder that works for each of the clues. KS3 Henry VIII

Five lessons well resourced and researched to create a flowing scheme of work for KS3. Each lesson is fully differentiated and includes options for SEN and LA pupils as well as challenging HA+. Pupils enjoy these lessons because they link back to prior knowledge they may have attained through primary school, activities include creating facebook conversations, carousel tasks and levelled extended writing, of which could be marked formally if you so wish. All lessons available to buy singularly for £2-£3 on my TES shop. There are some lessons missing from the SOW as a whole because I hadn’t made the other lessons from scratch, for example you may want to include lessons such as the dissolution of the monasteries, pilgrimage of grace, and others.

Who were the Pilgrim Fathers?

This outstanding lesson is designed to helped students understand who the Pilgrim Fathers were and why they left England to settle in America. It is a classic resource which has never failed to engage my students and has been carefully tweaked over the years to get the best possible outcomes. The resource can be used with a range of abilities and can easily be edited to customized to suit the needs of your students.
