Phonics Phase 5 "ou" words (alternative spelling of "ow")

Phonics Phase 5 "ou" words (alternative spelling of "ow")

Quick powerpoint to introduce (or consolidate) "ou" as in cloud, trout, proud, etc. I challenged my children to take one of the words and put it in a sentence. (Most wrote "I hate sprouts.") Last image "house" is good opportunity to mention the sneaky, silent "e"!

Worksheets for /l/, /r/, pIE, cOIn (KS1)

For /l/ and /r/ and pIE and cOIn, I've also bundled two paper activities per sound set (3gbp). They’re in MS Word if you'd like to edit, and in PDF if you want to fly with it. Please let me know what you think so that I can improve my materials.

Phonics PowerPoint for /l/, /r/, pIE, cOIn (KS1)

This is for (ESL) teachers who need an engaging phonics lesson for KS1 or pre-KS1. This works best with a whiteboard, but will work on a green blackboard as well. The PPT includes activities that get students up at the board, recognising sounds in words and pictures, using gestures to indicate sounds, with a bit of writing/spelling as well. The PPT also includes teaching notes. There is a version with and without phonetic symbols. I used this as a one-hour lesson, but it could easily be split and made shorter according to your needs. I've also bundled two paper activities per sound set (3gbp), in MS Word if you'd like to edit, and in PDF if you want to fly with it. Have fun. I did. :-) Please let me know what you think so that I can improve my materials.

Alphabet cue cards and mat dotted version

Alphabet cue cards and mat dotted version

2 pdfs 1. Alphabet dotted cue cards: two letters per sheet with traceable dotted lines in both capital and lower case. I use them under wipe clean folders, or as a cue card to prompt the learning of a particular letter. Could also be printed on coloured paper and used for display purposes. 2. Alphabet prompt letter mat: Features all letters in capital and lower case using a dotted tracable font. All letters have two cue pictures to support learning of the letter. At the bottom of the mat I have added a handwriting prompt to illustrate where the letters should be formed and aligned.
