GERMAN STARTER VOCABULARY (1) - HALLOWEEN EDITION - GAMES & ACTIVITIES

GERMAN STARTER VOCABULARY (1) - HALLOWEEN EDITION - GAMES & ACTIVITIES

Have some HALLOWEEN FUN with this set of GERMAN STARTER VOCABULARY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES! It features 99 words and phrases to keep your students happy at HALLOWEEN! The games and activities really do help to create a lively language learning environment, where students can work happily together, with both teacher-led and independent learning activities. I've classed the resource as suitable for ages 7-14, but it really does depend on the age at which your students begin GERMAN, and the stage at which they are currently learning. They definitely take a bit of prep – printing and laminating. Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense, as you will be able to re-use the cards for many HALLOWEENS to come. They will also take up quite a bit of your colour printer ink – printing in black and white will work equally well, as students can easily identify the GERMAN and ENGLISH cards from the different fonts used for each language. The whole-group practice and quick quiz activity is simply ready to go! The SET 1 WITCHES feature vocabulary in the following word groups: - die Begrüßungen - die Tage der Woche - die Monate des Jahres - die vier Jahreszeiten - die Nummern 0 bis 31 - die Farben - die Länder The resource itself comprises 3 non-editable files: - game cards in both GERMAN and English - whole-group practice activity and quick quiz - whole-group practice activity and quick quiz that you can load on to a tablet or similar device which is really useful for more independent learning in the classroom, or if you're homeschooling I've included a selection of preview images to give you an idea of what the resource looks like as a whole. The SET 1 WITCHES and SET 2 FRANKENSTEINS are also available as a combined mini-pack at the special HALLOWEEN price of £3.00 - you can see it here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-starter-vocabulary-1-and-2-halloween-edition-games-and-activities-11395520 Please read the Terms of Use carefully – this resource is copyright, and for single-classroom use only. GERMAN - EUROPE 72 POSTERS PACK - COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES & FLAGS

GERMAN - EUROPE 72 POSTERS PACK - COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES & FLAGS

CREATE AN INSTANT AND COMPREHENSIVE INTRODUCTION TO EUROPE IN YOUR CLASSROOM WITH 72 POSTERS FEATURING COUNTRIES, CAPITAL CITIES & FLAGS - IN GERMAN! Brighten up your classroom with this set of 72 posters in GERMAN showing European countries, capital cities and flags. The posters give your learning environment a great multicultural look and feel, at the same time promoting GERMAN as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of your - and your students’ - classroom. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the posters can help students develop their general knowledge and understanding of EUROPEAN GEOGRAPHY. I’ve included a range of islands, such as the FAROE ISLANDS, to extend students’ knowledge of EUROPE a little further, and I’ve also shown some countries, for example ARMENIA, that are often classed as belonging either to EUROPE or to ASIA. I’ve also included two posters for some countries, such as GERMANY, officially known as BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND - you can choose either the more frequently-used ‘DEUTSCHLAND’ or the ’BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND’ to display. The posters look great displayed horizontally across a particular learning area - alphabetically works well, though non-alphabetically is perfect for a country quest activity! They're ideal for the annual EUROPE DAY celebration, and THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES, as well as an all year round display. Laminate for longevity - you'll be able to display your EUROPA posters for years to come! Have a look at my other sets of continents display posters in GERMAN when you get chance! GERMAN VOCABULARY (4) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 WORDS & PHRASES

GERMAN VOCABULARY (4) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 WORDS & PHRASES

PERFECT FOR PRACTISING AND REVISING GERMAN VOCABULARY - 99 ESSENTIAL WORDS AND PHRASES FOR BEGINNING GERMAN LEARNERS! This set of games and activities really do help students to develop and embed their beginning GERMAN vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. Students can quiz/test themselves and each other on a regular basis - they're a very popular alternative to more traditional vocabulary 'drilling tasks', and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. This set features 99 BEGINNING WORDS AND PHRASES that students are likely to meet in the INTRODUCTORY stages of their GERMAN learning: - Länder - die Zahlen 61-80 - die Uhrzeit (1) - Adjektive (1) - Essen und Getränke (1) - Fragen und Antworten (4) I've described the resource as suitable for ages 7-14, but it does depend on the age at which your students begin GERMAN - the games and activities work well with any appropriate learning group, depending on their starting point. There are two non-editable files in a zipped format: FILE 1: GERMAN and ENGLISH game cards, with all the words and phrases to use in a variety of games and activities - I've suggested a range of games and activities that have worked well for me. This file also includes the game card template, which encourages your students to apply their developing knowledge of GERMAN practically and creatively. FILE 2 - this is an 18-page REFERENCE, RECALL & WRITE booklet. All the words and phrases are listed GERMAN-ENGLISH in language categories, and there are 3 differentiated RECALL & WRITE activities to help your students really practise and review the vocabulary: CHILLOUT CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in ENGLISH from a GERMAN prompt - all the words/phrases are in their language category CHAMPION CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in GERMAN from an ENGLISH prompt - again, all the words and phrases are in their language category SUPERCHARGED CHALLENGE: all the words and phrases appear in random order, and switch from GERMAN to ENGLISH at each question - this really does put students' memories to the test! SETS 1-3 featuring 297words and phrases are available as a combined pack, priced at £7: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-vocabulary-1-3-practice-and-revision-297-words-and-phrases-11521379 SETS 1-5, featuring 495 words and phrases, are priced at £10.00 as a combined pack: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-vocabulary-1-5-practice-and-revision-495-words-and-phrases-11521405 Please read the Terms of Use carefully - this resource is copyright, and for single-classroom use only. Die Olympischen Spiele 2016 Rio

Die Olympischen Spiele 2016 Rio

Powerpoint which presents key vocabulary to do with sports at the Olympics, as well as pushing students to write complex, then very complex, sentences about why they might want to (not) see certain events or visit the games. Should cover a whole lesson, depending on your lesson length and what else you do, of course, hence I´ve put it as a whole lesson, rather than a presentation. Note - this is adapted (only slightly!) from the version already on here that I made for the London 2012 Olympics, so you might recognise a lot of it!
