Transition Advice for Teachers

Transition Advice for Teachers

PSW Education & Leadership brings you 5 key areas to explore when participating in a transition meeting regarding your new class or group of students. 1- Explore the key demographics of your new class. What are the key vulnerable or target groups? 2- Do any individuals have specific additional needs or disabilities? 3- Explore any issues arising in regards to behaviour within the class. Are there any specific individuals or needs you need to be aware of? 4- Gather information in regards to current academic standards. How do these pupils need to be challenged? 5- What do I need to teach as a priority in my first few weeks? What gaps in learning need to be addressed?
