Odd One Out - employment

Odd One Out - employment

A nice starter activity for students to consider employment rights, and how they behave in the world of employment. Its an odd one out exercise to consider what is acceptable and not acceptable in the workplace, in things they may take for granted about their appearance

Teaching Professional Development, Portfolio, Organization, and Observation Logs

Teaching Professional Development, Portfolio, Organization, and Observation Logs

As you know, professional experience and organization is a result of your hard work. Most of that hard work goes unnoticed. A lot of teachers I know forget most of their side- experiences because they go above and beyond and never have any type of accountability to showcase that work. I have developed a tool for you that will assist in both your professional experience and organization. I have put together a set of three different professional development portfolio logs that will keep all that hard work and your volunteering organized and ready for review at a moment’s notice. These logs are a great way to organize your personal and professional experience. For every hour you instruct in the classroom, observe, attend conferences, and/or take advanced education classes, you need to log it down so that you can maintain and validate your personal, professional, and field experiences. These logs can be put together as a quick-reference, cosmetic portfolio binder that you can keep in your classroom or at home. The event sheets contained within these files can be taken with you to any event that will help build to your professional portfolio or resume. These logs provide the organization you need to fulfill any type of professional development event. I have provided several copies of these logs to multiple disciplines and professions already. Teachers, tend to enjoy these logs as they are custom for them. However, these logs can be used in multiple ways through diverse mediums across various professions.

NPQSL Final Assessment Log (2016) with appendices

NPQSL Final Assessment Log (2016) with appendices

After completing my NPQML, I decided to embark on the SL course and what a journey it has been. I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into this document and received some outstanding feedback in regards to both the project and the completed log. A superb course for anyone interested in senior leadership within the education sector. Included in this package comes all 22 pages of the log with all appendices attached. Within the appendices are my 'Project Action Plan', 360 Diagnostic report and SLT and Governors report. All references are also highlighted in the log. Pseudonyms are used for school and individual identities. All I can say is that I wished I had the opportunity to see an example such as this when I was writing as the IOE provide very little in terms of examples. If you do download, please leave feedback :)

You Rock Recognition

You Rock Recognition

Use this FREE resource with the Lesson Tuning Protocol and MAP to grow your professional learning community or SURVEY-PLAY-ENGAGE to bring gamification to polling. These rock-notes are harvested from the Atlantic Ocean and their smooth surface and palm size are easy to reproduce. They allow individuals to carry around your kind words in their pocket to serve as reminders of their hard work. The rocks are prepped with white and black spray paint. The edges where the white and black meet are lined with a paint pen you can pick up at your local art supply store. Minutes later the surfaces are dry, and you can scribe the note. Use this message or design your own. Soon your building will be rocking too!

Supply teacher daily checklist, class feedback form and some useful websites

Supply teacher daily checklist, class feedback form and some useful websites

This is a three page document drawn up from my own needs. I've tried to price it fairly - it should be something you can adapt. It should save you some time and maybe even some stress. The first page is a simple but thorough checklist to ensure I have all the information I need for a successful day (I've left off the lesson content, which I tackle anyway). I've not currently added any icons but that's the way I wanted it, really straightforward. It's a standard checklist. The second page has some useful websites and last minute ideas for activities (mainly primary but could easily be adapted). The the third page is a feedback form to leave for the class teacher. You might find you want to move the sizing around or change some of the categories. Maybe you want to reduce it onto A5 instead of A4? There 's also a checklist for use when leaving the house at the beginning of the day and the classroom at the end, so you don't end up losing your favourite hat/water bottle/etc... I have this laminated on the back of my DBS folder, and on the back of my phone, which you might want to consider too - you can always reduce the typeface? They are in .docx format so can be manipulated and amended to help you. Good luck and happy supplying. Hope they help! Please email with feedback or leave me some lovely stars...

NPQSL COMBINED TASK 2017 (PASS) - FULL PROJECT INCLUDING EVIDENCE AND FEEDBACK

NPQSL COMBINED TASK 2017 (PASS) - FULL PROJECT INCLUDING EVIDENCE AND FEEDBACK

This is my completed write-up of my project for my NPQSL. I have also included the sponsor's comments and my additional resources I used as evidence in my project. This provides you with a good example of the balance between how much evidence needs to be written, and the types of evidence you can upload to demonstrate you have successfully met the competencies. At assessment, the sponsor's comments play an equally important part. I have included my sponsor's comments in this document. Updated as of 05/09/17- I have now also included the feedback form from the external assessor. All projects are sent off for a pass/fail assessment, and I passed all of the competencies at first time of asking. Feedback form attached.
