Junior Painter of the Year Awards 2008

The Junior Painter Awards for 2008 have now been launched and every primary school in the UK should have received their very own Awards pack in the post. If you have not or would like another copy please contact the schools team. This year, we are thrilled to be able to hold the exhibition of winning paintings at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. The exhibition will run from 22 November to 16 February 2009; ideal for a Christmas holiday visit! The deadline for entries is 12 September and art clubs as well as primary schools will be competing for the regional and national prizes this year.

The Big Draw

The Campaign invites everyone to join in, using drawing to engage with the past, present and future. The ninth Big Draw runs from 1 to 31 October 2008, with a special focus on Saturday 11 October. Any drawing event in October can be registered as part of this programme. Every October, galleries, museums, science centres, heritage and environmental sites, libraries, archives, community and shopping centres, colleges, schools and art clubs host drawing activities for people of all abilities. They explore technical, scientific, architectural, archaeological or fine art drawing.
