Included is a PP that goes through the Lesson The Lesson is themed on Lord of the Rings to engage the pupils in the subject content. Included therefore is a map worksheet of 'Middle Earth' for pupils to use in order to complete activities on grid references and write a journey log making use of grid referencing and identifying symbols to practice their map skills. The main task is differentiated and there is a differentiated map for LA.

GCSE Geog assessment: Map skills, tectonic hazards, weather hazards + climate change

We have exams at the end of term 1 and so I have created this assessment that tests students knowledge on topics we have covered so far; - Map skills - grid references and measuring distances - Tectonic hazards - Weather hazards - Climate change This exam lasts 1 hour and is worth 53 marks. There is no mark scheme but I apply the generic mark scheme for 6 and 9 mark answers, which is available from AQA.
